Overview

The International Aerospace Environmental Group brings aerospace manufacturers and their suppliers together to solve shared environmental and compliance problems once, rather than each company doing it alone. Aerospace supply chains are long and global, so a common approach saves a lot of duplicated effort.

Its central product is the Aerospace and Defence Declarable Substance List, a single list of substances the sector agrees suppliers should declare. The group also publishes shared guidance on how to run material declarations consistently across that supply chain.

How it fits the wider toolset

The AD-DSL says which substances to report. The mechanics of reporting then lean on the established electronics formats, in particular IPC-1754, which is the material and substance declaration standard built for aerospace and defence. The IAEG list and the IPC format are designed to work together, so a declaration can carry the substances the sector cares about in a structured, machine-readable form.
