Overview

ISO is the standards body for nearly everything that is not electrical. It is also the IEC's partner when a topic needs to cover all industries at once.

Why it appears here

Material declaration started in electronics, which is IEC territory, but the same problem exists in every sector. The planned IEC/ISO 82474-1 is a joint, dual-logo standard. ISO brings the cross-industry reach, and IEC brings the proven IEC 62474 model.
